Chordette Gem, a standalone Bluetooth Audio receiver with USB connection to allow audio streaming from a Bluetooth device or personal computer. Competitvely priced, the Gem is aimed at all music lovers who want to experience the future of music playback.
It’s a sign of just how important the Bluetooth has become that a company with audiophile credentials like Chord Electronics should develop the Chordette Gem. Designed to integrate with existing hi-fi systems, this Gem is a wi-fi device that allows you to stream music to a line level stereo output. The Gem relies on the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) format to deliver high-quality digital data, which can be processed using the Gem’s on-board 24bit DAC. Not all phones and players support the A2DP protocols, however, as it’s still a fledgling technology. The Gem can connect with devices up to 30 metres from its aerial and includes a USB port for those wanting to connect a PC without going wireless.
